Blinded by Violence: Securing Justice Without Witnesses

jlightnercampaign

Jeremy was assigned a devastating case in which an Erie man was shot point-blank in the head outside a bar by an assailant who had crept up behind him. Miraculously, the victim survived, but he was left permanently blind and could only testify that he had been shot and lost his sight. With no cooperative witnesses at the scene, Jeremy collaborated closely with local law enforcement to meticulously track the shooter through surveillance footage inside and outside the bar. His compelling presentation of the evidence convinced the jury of the Defendant’s guilt. At sentencing, the presiding judge condemned the Defendant as "the embodiment of evil" before handing down a lengthy prison sentence.
